У жовтні 2012 року Cambridge English Language Assessment започаткував унікальний проект для шкіл Cambridge English Penfriends. / Children from over 40 countries who are learning English have linked up with one another thanks to a new pen friend scheme for schools developed by a department of Cambridge University.

Cambridge English Penfriends

      Міжнародний проект Cambridge English Penfriends допомагає школам завести друзів у всьому світі.

      У жовтні 2012 року Cambridge English Language Assessment започаткував унікальний проект для шкіл Cambridge English Penfriends. Навчальні заклади різних країн знаходять школи - партнери для того, щоб учні могли обмінюватися листівками, здружитися з дітьми, які вивчають англійську мову у всьому світі. Учителі отримують доступ до креативних завдань для роботи на уроці,сертифікат  для кожного учасника, постер для класа. Cambridge English Penfriends став дуже популярним та успішним. Більш ніж 3500 шкіл у 63 странах світу приєдналися до проекту.

       Броварська гімназія ім. С.І.Олійника є дійсним учасником з 2012 року. Учні 2-А, 2-Б, 2-В та 5-А класів представили свої малюнки по темі: "Amazing animals" та листування англійською мовою  з партнерською школою Doga school міста Стамбул, Туреччина.

            
        У відповідь турецькі учні надіслали гімназистам свої малюнки з листами, сувенірами та запрошенням на Міжнародний дитячий фестиваль у Стамбулі.  Музично- хореографічна композиція української делегації з, яку представили учні гімназії, була дуже високо оцінена  турецькими глядачами. Учні гімназії мали змогу познайомитись з дітьми  багатьох країн світу. 

 

 

Young English learners around the world connect through pen friend scheme

 

       Children from over 40 countries who are learning English have linked up with one another thanks to a new pen friend scheme for schools developed by a department of Cambridge University. Cambridge English Penfriends – launched by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL).

The scheme provides a classroom activity for teachers to carry out with their students, designing and sharing cards with learners at a school in another country. The current theme for cards is ‘Amazing Animals’ and children are encouraged to include some English words in their design to help with their ongoing language learning.
When young people learn English, it’s important that it’s done in an environment that is fun, practical and engaging. This has been the driving force behind the project and which is already proving to be very popular.

Schools taking part in Cambridge English Penfriends make connections with each other based on the age of their students and the size of the school, with instructions provided through the site at each step of the way.

Brovary gymnasium named after S.I.Oliinyk joined this project in 2012. The pupils of 2-A, 2-B, 2-C and 5-A classes sent their letters and pictures on the theme:  "Amazing animals" to the students of Doga school in Istanbul, Turkey.

      

After a while, the students of the gymnasium received letters with pictures from Turkish students and an invitation  to take part in an annual international children festival in Istanbul. The delegation from our gymnasium showed Ukrainian musical and choreographic performance at the festival. It was very successful. In Turkey Ukrainian students  made friends with children from different countries. The trip to Turkey was unforgettable!
