     Every year, the children in Turkey celebrate the "Sovereignty and Children’s Day" as a national holiday. Schools participate in week-long ceremonies marked by performances in all fields in large stadiums watched by the entire nation. Over the last two decades, the Turkish officials have been working hard to internationalize this important day. Their efforts resulted in large number of world states sending groups of children to Turkey to participate in the festivities. During their stay in Turkey, the foreign children are housed in Turkish homes and find an important opportunity to interact with the Turkish children and learn about each other’s countries and cultures.

The delegation from Ukraine was invited to Istanbul to this important event in 2013 by the partner-school “Doga College”. 10 students and two teachers from Gymnasium named after S.I.Oliinyk performed a Ukrainian folk dance composition at Istanbul Doga School.

     У Туреччині є особливе свято, присвячене дітям (Cocuk Bairami) - «День Дітей». Це свято відзначається в країні за заповітом першого президента Туреччини Кемаля Ататюрка. Головні вулиці та території шкіл прикрашені квітами, повітряними кульками та турецькими прапорами.
     У рамках свята влаштовуються концерти та змагання серед школярів, а також семінари, олімпіади та брифінги, в яких беруть участь діти з різних країн. 

     У 2013 році делегація гімназії ім.С.І.Олійника теж була запрошена взяти учать у цій події в місті Стамбул. Група у складі 10 дітей та двох вчителів представили глядачам народно-хореографічну композицію, яку підготували викладачі Демешок Дарина Олександрівна, Блохіна Світлана Ігорівна та Петрова Ірина Олегівна.
